Keith Basile, the General Manager of the Solutions Team, noted the advantages of digitization, such as greater efficiency, empowering residents with self-service options, and enhancing transparency. He emphasized the importance of using a no-code platform, which allows cities to digitize their many forms and processes affordably, rather than investing in multiple specialized systems. Veoci’s platform is a key resource for cities on this digital journey with upcoming enhancements aimed at improving usability, including better navigation and real-time tracking features.
Basile noted the need to invest in staff training and carve out dedicated time for digitization efforts. He suggested reallocating roles, like having GIS specialists focus on these initiatives and recommended running workshops to map out processes and gather feedback. He also advised starting with public-facing forms to meet residents’ needs quickly. Basile also reminded attendees of the various training resources available, like customer office hours, certification programs, and even opportunities to visit Veoci’s office in New Haven, Connecticut.
Looking ahead, he mentioned some exciting platform enhancements, including improved navigation, real-time tracking, and better integration with Esri. He also noted plans to increase support staff and provide more training opportunities to facilitate the digitization journey.
