Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Manager to join our team, focusing on SaaS solutions for Higher Education institutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the product design, feature specifications, client feedback incorporation, delivery milestones, and release schedule for our existing suite of products: Emergency Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Event Management, and Continuity of Operations. This role will also be instrumental in driving new product research and development (R&D) to expand our offerings into critical areas like Disaster Recovery, Risk Management, and Student & Faculty Safety.

The successful candidate will possess a unique blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, capable of nurturing individual product growth while simultaneously defining and realizing the vision of a powerful, unified, enterprise-wide platform. This role requires a data-driven approach to managing SaaS product roadmaps, consistently striving to solve customer problems, optimize response times during crises, and ultimately support Higher Education institutions in achieving their strategic goals and maintaining their reputation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and champion a compelling product vision and strategy for both individual product lines and the overarching enterprise platform
• Lead the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and discovery to design, development, launch, and continuous improvement for assigned products
• Conduct comprehensive market research, competitor analysis, and customer interviews to identify pain points, needs, and emerging opportunities within the Higher Education sector, translating these insights into actionable product requirements and specifications
• Craft, maintain, and communicate product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and stakeholder priorities
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success, to drive product development and achieve timely, high-quality releases
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and inform data-driven decisions for continuous product optimization and iteration
• Gather and integrate client feedback throughout the product lifecycle, prioritizing and implementing improvements that enhance user experience and engagement
• Drive research and development efforts for new products, exploring innovative solutions in Disaster Recovery, Risk Management, and Student & Faculty Safety
• Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for our products, educating internal teams and external stakeholders on product value and capabilities

• Assist the Higher Education industry with improved safety, security and operational needs; become an “Industry Best Practice” tool
• Lead by example setting the tone for a cohesive, employee and client focused culture celebrating everyone’s diversity and unique skill sets
• Provide succinct and clear updates and information in Product Management meetings
• Develop, monitor, drive, and report on multiple KPI standards
• Provide guidance, facilitation, and oversight for team members to resolve issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of progressive product management experience, preferably within a B2B SaaS environment
• Demonstrated experience managing product roadmaps and delivering successful product launches
• Strong understanding of the Higher Education landscape, its unique challenges, and the potential for technology to drive institutional success
• Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and specifications
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority
• Data-driven mindset with proficiency in analyzing product performance metrics and using insights to guide decisions
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and their application in product development
• Passion for solving complex problems and creating innovative solutions that make a tangible impact

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field
• Experience in product management roles specifically serving the Higher Education sector
• Prior experience with Emergency Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Event Management, or Continuity of Operations software solutions
• Demonstrated ability to drive new product innovation and R&D initiatives
• Proficiency with product management tools
• Experience with user research, A/B testing, and other experimentation techniques
• Industry certifications such as AAAE, ACI, and PMP

Physical Requirements

This role is 100% remote, but may require travel a few times a year for team/company meetings and or conference and training attendance. 

The wage range for this role is $100,000 – $160,000 plus benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
