In this webinar, Sara Fant, OEM Coordinator, and Meredith Nichols, Deputy Director, from Pikes Peak Regional OEM (PPROEM), the emergency management agency for Colorado Springs and El Paso County, discussed how they developed and implemented a custom Veoci training solution to enhance disaster coordination and preparedness efforts. As a mission-driven organization focused on building a resilient region, PPROEM leveraged the Veoci platform to manage a comprehensive training and program management solution, extending the platform’s usage beyond traditional disaster operations.
To achieve this, the team at PPROEM built the system as an interconnected database to streamline core processes, such as standardizing training data or querying partner engagement information. Throughout this whole solution, they prioritize the end-user experience, as shown by the QR code sign-in process, ensuring consistency and easy adoption.
Additionally, the system has documented over 6,000 instruction hours and provides leadership with real-time data on training hours and partner engagement, demonstrating an immediate return on investment through improved efficiency.
Beyond training management, PPROEM also utilizes Veoci for exercise development, including managing injects and virtual Exercise Evaluation Guides (EEGs) to facilitate rapid scoring and the generation of After-Action Reports (AARs). For future development, they plan to expand application management workflows for select sponsored trainings, activate waitlist/class full triggers, establish an API connection between Veoci and the city’s data lakehouse for live data updates, and more.
PPROEM’s use of Veoci demonstrates the platform’s adaptability in not only traditional emergency management operations but also as an innovative solution to challenges in regional training programs. Ultimately, the team at PPROEM addressed several needs through the implementation of a customized Veoci training system, such as limiting repetitive manual data entry, simplifying registration and sign-in processes, and documenting training and partner engagement data.
This strategic application of Veoci establishes a foundation for disaster preparedness and training management efforts, as well as future enhancements, serving as a model for other organizations seeking to enhance their resilience programs.
