In this webinar, Austin Windsor, Communications and IT Specialist for Marshall County Emergency Management, and the school system shared their innovative use of Veoci’s digital platform to enhance safety, efficiency, and communication.
The centerpiece of the solutions Windsor shared included the SRO Admin Dashboard, which allows supervisors to approve, reject, and track reports, and the integration of weather updates, threat assessments, and reunification plans. The system links to student databases, updates in real-time, and offers functionalities like anonymous tip lines and geofencing to enhance safety.
Advanced tools such as customizable floor plans, interactive weather maps, and the ability to manage reunification processes were also discussed. The reunification process in Veoci allows schools to quickly check-in and check-out students during an emergency, with safeguards to prevent unauthorized pickups. The system is integrated with the student information database to provide instant access to contact details. Administrators can also simply launch reunification plans directly from the Dashboard.
Beyond the SRO tools, the webinar highlighted how the platform is used to manage a public safety training program for students, with customized Dashboards for different tracks like firefighting, law enforcement, and EMT.
Throughout the webinar, Austin emphasized Veoci’s flexibility in handling diverse needs, from visitor management to SRO activity logs, and future projects like integrating bus tracking and enhanced floor plan mapping. Feedback from administrators has been overwhelmingly positive, with initial resistance replaced by widespread adoption as the platform’s efficiency and data collection capabilities became evident. Plans for expanding Veoci’s use to all city and county schools are underway, reinforcing its role as a transformative tool in school safety and emergency management.
