VDEM implemented Veoci as a JIC to enhance COVID-19 Response Operations.
Veoci announced a partnership with the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM). This is Veoci’s first partnership with a state level emergency response entity.
VDEM chose the Veoci platform to build and operate a joint information center (JIC) in response to the ongoing coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.
The size and widespread effect of the COVID-19 pandemic necessitates the participation of many stakeholders at the local, state, and federal levels. Using Veoci for this operation streamlined all communication coming into the department from stakeholders and helped coordinate the department’s pandemic response.
“Synthesizing information and facilitating response operations are just a few of Veoci’s strengths,” John Duddy, Customer Success Manager for Government, Veoci, said. “This should set a precedent for departments and agencies at the state level. Veoci has a lot of benefits for the personnel performing emergency operations for state agencies.”
Since the beginning of the partnership in March 2020, the department also started exploring how it can further develop its solutions. These solutions were great additions to the department’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Virginia, and will aid in emergencies and disasters going forward.
“We’re very excited to see the Virginia Department of Emergency Management using our platform,” Duddy continued. “It’ll be interesting to see the impact Veoci has for VDEM as the pandemic continues, and once it resolves.”
