The Guilford Fire Department has been using the Veoci platform for over 10 years, starting with emergency management and gradually expanding its use across various departments. Under the leadership of Assistant Chief Mike Shove, the department has leveraged Veoci to digitize and streamline numerous operational processes, from vehicle discrepancy reporting to emergency call intake and response coordination.
A key milestone was the department’s response to Tropical Storm Isaias in 2020, where Veoci’s Call Taker Form and data visualization capabilities aided in collecting, organizing, and sharing critical information with stakeholders like utility companies and FEMA. The fire department was able to quickly provide the necessary data to FEMA, which resulted in $57,000 in reimbursements. This experience proved Veoci’s ability to serve as a centralized hub for cross-departmental data and collaboration, leading the department to further integrate the platform with CAD systems across multiple neighboring towns.
Today, Veoci is deeply embedded in the day-to-day operations of Guilford’s police, public works, and HR departments, supporting everything from trouble ticket management to accreditation documentation. Guilford Fire Department continues to explore new ways to leverage the platform, including enhancing scheduling capabilities and improving data sharing with external partners like Eversource. Throughout this journey, the Guilford team has demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement, adapting Veoci to meet evolving needs and sharing their experiences to benefit the broader Veoci community.
