Paperless City Webinar Series: Partner Portal with Baldwin County, AL

An aerial view of the water and surrounding city in Orange Beach in Baldwin County, Alabama.

Doug Hatten from the Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency provided an overview of how they have customized and leveraged the Veoci platform to streamline operations and enhance information sharing.

Previously, they had been using several separate systems for key functions like incident management, training and certification, as well as  inventory and logistics. By consolidating these disparate systems into a single platform, they gained efficiency by reducing workload and resolved confusion over where data is stored.

To further optimize usability, they simplified the home screen with large, clearly labeled Tiles linking to important areas like daily operations and resource requests. This navigation structure has proven effective for onboarding new partners and staff in a more intuitive way. Additional customizations like automated notifications on resource requests ensure the right emergency response teams are notified and made aware of critical information as incidents progress.

Dashboards and workspaces have also been customized to meet specific organizational needs. This includes the daily operations Dashboard for situational awareness sharing and the PIO Dashboard for coordinated public information releases. Future plans involve leveraging more advanced Veoci features such as QR codes and public Forms.

Overall, through consolidation of systems and strategic customization of Workflows, navigation, and team collaboration tools, Baldwin County EMA has been able to maximize efficiencies, streamline operations, and enhance coordination both internally and with external partners through the use of Veoci.
