About Chris
Chris is a well-established emergency management, public safety, and resilience practitioner with over 14 years of professional experience in these fields. County government volunteer emergency management work was his first step over 20 years ago, which opened the door to full-time emergency management experience in higher education. He fully developed the program at his institution as the Senior Director of EM & Assurance and did the same when he joined the Keller Independent School District in 2019 as Emergency Management Coordinator. His practitioner experience in education, government, and technology encompasses leadership roles in developing comprehensive emergency management programs to architecting core solutions on the Veoci platform.
Before full-time emergency management, Chris was a Senior Systems Analyst in the information technology field for more than 10 years, building processes and integrating data systems. He concurrently obtained years of law enforcement experience, during which he worked as a Sheriff’s Deputy and Cybercrime Investigator. He also holds certifications from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, including Instructor, Cybercrime Investigator, Field Training Officer, and Master Peace Officer. As a Master Peace Officer, he brings a unique understanding of immediate response, threat assessment, operational planning, and mitigation. Since Chris joined Veoci as a Senior Solutions Engineer, he has designed and implemented emergency management, business continuity, enterprise crisis management, IT disaster recovery, and many related solutions for small businesses, the Fortune 100, state and local government, education, and international intergovernmental entities.
Chris has a master’s in emergency and disaster management from Georgetown University and is currently a doctoral candidate in leadership and learning in organizations at Vanderbilt University.
